WHAT IS THE MANCHESTER ANARCHIST BOOKFAIR?
There has been two Manchester
Anarchist Bookfairs at the Basement in central
Manchester after holding several radical bookfairs in the
city.
It was decided to change the name to the Manchester
Anarchist Bookfair to more accurately reflect the
books, groups and campaigns represented.
To date there have been seven Manchester Radical Bookfairs,
the first six took place at Bridge 5 Mill (home of MERCi)
in Ancoats, close to central Manchester. The seventh
bookfair took place at a new venue, the Basement at 24
Lever Street (off Piccadilly Gardens) in central
Manchester. There were two Manchester Anarchist
Bookfairs at the Basement , prior to its closure
due to fire and flooding!
The last Manchester Anarchist Bookfair
took place at a new venue, Jabez Clegg, which is close to
Manchester University just off Oxford Road.
Manchester Anarchist Bookfair is a
platform for grass roots, activist, anarchist and radical
politics.
Manchester Anarchist Bookfair focuses on
books, magazines and pamphlets relating to Anarchism,
Peace, Ecology and Radical Social Change.
